Between 1970 and 1998 Porsche won Le Mans 16 times. As Porsche returns to La Sarthe this weekend for the famous Le Mans 24 hours, we look back at the most famous cars, race directors and drivers who helped create the Porsche legend. We interviewed the team's most famous drivers and engineers ahead of Le Mans in the June 2014 issue of CAR magazine.
Perhaps the most promising EVs from Audi so far have been the A2 EV (pictured above) and the A1 range extender with a small Wankel engine in the boot to charge the battery. But even they were dropped from Audi’s production plans last year. But now it seems Audi are back in the production EV game with plans to produce an Audi e-tron using the underpinnings of the electric VW e-Up, but with Audi styling and an upmarket Audi interior and high-end Infotainment.
Monterey car week is the perfect time for automakers to launch new concepts and debut special edition vehicles. But it's usually the big names in the luxury/performance world -- the heavy hitters, if you will -- that show up and show off. Cadillac unveiled the Ciel concept a few years back, BMW featured a Zagato roadster in 2012 and the Porsche 918 concept used Pebble as a stage for its first North American appearance.
